Simple Cereal Bowl

01/03/2015
Cereal Mix Bowl

This suggestion is really an assembly job. My favourite breakfast cereal is about the alchemy of mixing a combination of three together to get the best variety of cereal textures. Then I sprinkle on pine nuts, pumpkin seeds and berries for the extra flavour and health benefits. The three I use most at the moment are Fibre Flakes, Crispy Rice & Mesa Sunrise. These work well together but of course use your own selection to get your favourite creation.

Serves: 1
Prep time: approx. 5 minutes

Gluten free, Dairy free option

Ingredients

10g (heaped 1/4 cup) each of 3 different cereals – such as: Fibre Flakes, Crispy Rice, Granola, Corn Flakes, Multigrain Hoops etc

½ tablespoon pine nuts, raw

½ tablespoon sunflower seeds, raw

1 or 2 tablespoons berries e.g. raspberries, or if out of season, then chopped pear or kiwi are a good substitute

100ml (1/2 cup) milk of your choice (I use unsweetened almond milk)

1 teaspoon maple syrup or runny honey (optional, no need if using sweetened milk)

Method

  • Get out your favourite bowl and add the selection of 3 cereals
  • Sprinkle over the pine nuts, pumpkin seeds and raspberries.
  • Pour over the milk and drizzle the maple syrup on top – ready to eat!
